Scope
Journal of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics publishes research on the application of geophysical methods to near-surface problems in environmental, engineering, and geotechnical contexts. The journal focuses on seismic, electrical, electromagnetic, gravity, magnetic, and ground-penetrating radar techniques applied to site characterization, contaminant detection, archaeology, and infrastructure assessment.
What it costs to publish
See publication fee policy
Charges differ by publication route. Subscription is not open access; the APC does not include every possible extra charge.
Amount not established
Amount not established. Research notes (English): EEGS identifies JEEG as its peer-reviewed journal, ISSN 1083-1363. ISSN portal confirms online ISSN 1943-2658 with ISSN-L 1083-1363. Keepers records still name the Society of Exploration Geophysicists as the archived publisher. In 2026 EEGS describes a move from KGL to GeoScienceWorld and a pause in publication and submissions around the start of 2026. The submit page retrieved does not publish a 2026 author fee schedule. A December 2020 EEGS newsletter announced, for submissions from January 2021, member flat USD 100 plus USD 50 per page beyond 10 and USD 100 per color figure, and non-member flat USD 500 plus USD 100 excess page and USD 100 per color figure. That schedule is not reconfirmed for October 2026 and is not used as a current price.
Basis / unit: article. Tax terms (source language): Not stated for a current author charge.

Research notes (English): No 2026 author charge or waiver page was found on the EEGS submit and journal pages during the publisher transition. The 2020 fee announcement is historical and ambiguous as a current price. SEG's open-access policy page was not applied, because EEGS states that it owns the journal.

APC, page charges, over-length, S2O: what each one means
- APC
- Article processing charge: a fee per article to publish it open access. It is not the whole cost.
- Page charges
- A fee per printed or typeset page. It can apply with or without an APC.
- Over-length
- Pages beyond a length limit, billed at a different rate. Each page pays one rate, never both.
- S2O
- Subscribe to Open: subscribers keep the journal free to read, decided year by year. Page charges can still apply.
- Agreement
- A deal between an institution or country and a publisher that may cover the APC. Never automatic.
